The United States on Tuesday announced charges in five cases involving alleged efforts to steal technology to benefit China, Russia and Iran including a former Apple engineer accused of targeting the company's technology on autonomous systems, including self-driving cars, and then fleeing to China.

The company said that if a Google account had not been used or signed into for at least two years, it might delete the account and content across Google Workspace, which includes Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet and Calendar, as well as YouTube and Google Photos.

Apple today previewed software features for cognitive, vision, hearing, and mobility accessibility. The announcement comes ahead of the Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 18. New features that are slated to arrive on the iPhone, iPad and Mac later this year include Assistive Access, Live Speech and Personal Voice among others.

Loki season 2 and Echo just got release dates for Disney+. During Disney’s Upfront presentation, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that the Tom Hiddleston-led Loki season 2 will debut October 6, whereas Echo will be out on November 29. NetApp announced several new products, including an all-flash SAN array for block storage. The ASA (All-Flash SAN Array) A-Series family is said to simplify the deployment of modern SAN infrastructure while providing guaranteed availability and efficiency. HP has updated its commercial desktop line, including the Elite, EliteOne, Pro, and Chromebox models, with Intel's latest processors. These models will all carry the G9 suffix and will be available later in May or July. (more…)

Solidigm has launched the next evolution of its popular enterprise QLC SSD family, the D5-P5430.  The Solidigm P5430 is optimized for mainstream and read-intensive applications, targeting the bulk of enterprise work like the P5316 before it. The P5430 will be available in several form factors and capacities. A U.2 15mm will ship in 3.84TB-30.72 capacities, and the E3.S 7.5mm form factor will do the same. The Micron 6500 ION NVMe SSD is the first 200+ layer data center SSD that aims to offer affordable and scalable storage. Available in a single 30.72TB capacity, the 6500 ION comes in a 15mm U.3 and E1.L form factor. The drive explicitly aims to disrupt the Solidigm P5316 in the enterprise, which has been shipping in a 30.72TB capacity for some time at a lower cost than TLC SSDs. The 6500 ION changes that math; however, Micron says the 6500 ION will be price comparable with the P5316 at the 30.72TB capacity point. (more…)
