PowerStore is an entirely new platform for Dell EMC that is intended to take over as the lead product in the all-flash midmarket space. The clean sheet design allowed Dell EMC to take the best of their existing lines like XtremIO and SC Storage to create a platform that is actually quite unique. StorCentric Crams 491TB Into Nexsan E-Series 32F

Today, StorCentric released the Nexsan E-Series 32F storage appliance. StorCentric was founded in August 2018. In the less than two years it has existed, it has gobbled up four storage companies. The same month the company was founded, they announced that they would be acquiring storage companies Drobo and Nexsan. Soon afterwards, in June 2019, it bought Retrospect, a data backup vendor. Most recently, in July of last year, StorCentric purchased Vexeta. (more…)

HPE Shares HCI Enhancement Plans

Today, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced some of their planned enhancements for their HCI lineup. Second generation AMD EPYC CPUs are expected to be available as a shipping option for HPE’s SimpliVity 325 Gen10 1U servers later this month. In addition, HPE Nimble Storage dHCI, a disaggregated HCI platform released last year, is now available through HPE Greenlake. However, the full set of planned features for dHCI through Greenlake won’t be available until later this year. (more…)

Cisco & Schneider To Simplify Edge Computing

A couple of days ago at Cisco Live, Cisco, in conjunction with Schneider, presented more details of the new enclosure targeting Micro Data Center solutions, the NetShelter WX 6U Wall Mount enclosure. With this joint product, these two tech giants seek to overcome new IT challenges due to the rise of edge computing. Significant challenges like delivering enhanced digital services to customers, and collect and process large amounts of data being generated outside of the data center. Cisco and Schneider Electric have a 15-year history of partnership that continues to grow stronger as they work together to address unique challenges of this new realm known as edge computing.
